The Agnone Project

Problem

Some of Europe’s most historic and important villages are dying. As the older generation passes away and the younger leaves home for better employment opportunities, populations are dwindling. In fact, it is estimated that by 2041, one such village in Italy—Agnone—will be gone.

Solution

What if—instead of looking backwards—we used genealogical data to look forward to the present. By connecting the tens of thousands of people scattered around the world to their common ancestor and to each other, we can create global family reunions that flood ancestral homelands with the income they need to survive.

Enter the name of your Agnonese ancestor to get started.

We’ll connect you with all the other users who share a common ancestor with you.

We’ll tell you which week your family group is returning.

We’ll even help you find accommodations in one of your ancestor’s homes. And while you’re there, our site will help you locate the churches, homes, businesses and important locations relevant to your family history.
